Common/Wealth: 29% Festival Friday
This Is Bradford
Bradford is one of the youngest cities in Europe. 29% of our population was under the age of 20 when our youth festival was formed in 2024.
29% Festival is a free festival of live performance, music, dance, art and workshops, celebrating Bradford’s young people & young artists, organised by Common/Wealth, and held in central Bradford on Friday 28 & Saturday 29 November 2025.
Common/Wealth are commissioning up to 100 young artists, performers, DJs, rappers, drag artists, comedians, writers and workshop leaders to create new work which will be debuted at the festival. As well as a packed festival programme with a bit of something for everyone…sport, food & drink, arts and wellbeing activity, games, fashion and modeling and film – including some secret headliners we’re very excited to bring to Bradford.
On Friday 28 November, Common/Wealth will be hosting their first Alternative Careers Fair as part of the festival, welcoming young people from schools, sixth forms, colleges and alternative education providers from across the district to take part in inspiring, hands-on and radical workshops about creative careers and breaking barriers into the arts/creative sector. They will share tips and tricks on cv writing, networking, job applications, audition advice and confidence in interviews.
