South Asian weddings are famed for their colour, music, and larger-than-life celebrations – but what lies beneath the sparkle? This session will serve up a cup of desi tea and some honest talk as we share stories and memories from our own shaadis and family weddings. This safe-space gathering is a chance to collect personal experiences while opening up conversations on modern love, marriage, and community — where tradition meets today. Guided by our facilitator, we’ll explore the joys, pressures, and dramas of desi weddings in a dialogue full of heart, laughter, and connection. Together, we’ll also co-create a unique piece of artwork that captures the spirit of the discussion – a celebration of weddings in all their complexity, both dazzling and real.
