James Wilson

James Wilson is Projects & Events Manager at LeedsBID (Business Improvement District), presiding over Leeds city centre summer animations such as MONOPOLY Leeds Takeover (2024) – enjoyed by more than 500,000 visitors and generating £3m+ GVA to the local economy. He is also Festival Manager for Leeds International Festival of Ideas. In 2025, James was awarded an MSc in Place Management and Leadership, having inquired into policy mobility of the UK City of Culture competition in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Previous roles include higher education institutions, the University of York and Leeds Conservatoire.

As a musician, James specialised in contemporary classical music. In 2021, he collaborated with composer Ambrose Field to create a short film, Quantaform, showcasing well-known Yorkshire locations and respective acoustics.
