Studio Space
We offer artists FREE use of our studios to create, develop and rehearse work.
We put no expectations or requirements on artists for how you use your time with us – whether you are exploring new ideas, rehearsing for a performance, trying out some new technology, auditioning performers or simply need some space to think and be –the space is yours to use as you need … but we are always available to offer feedback, help or just to chat things through.
We can facilitate sharing events or feedback sessions as part of your time with us. We can also work with you to plan workshops/ wraparound activities with local communities if this is part of your project.
We prioritise offering space to artists who align with at least one of our programming strands.
Available spaces:
Studio 1: A glass fronted space, overlooking reception and with a mirrored back wall. Ideal for artists working on solo or duet works.
Studio 2: A black box space, which can be used for working on projects with projection or other digital technologies.
Studio 3: Our Education and Community space – ideal for creative workshops for school or community groups with school groups etc.
Studio 4: Perfect for working with larger groups, this classic dance studio has a sprung floor and mirrored wall.
Studio 5: Another classic dance studio with sprung floor and mirrored wall.
Theatre: 8x8m stage with a full sound and lighting rig. Theatre use will be prioritised for artists on our performance programme who are rehearsing/ teching shows on our performance programme.
Studio spaces are available Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. All spaces have dance flooring, a Bluetooth speaker system and projectors. If you have any additional requirements, please let us know when booking.
Developmental and Funding Support
Whether you are a new artist trying to create your first work or have more experience and are looking to build your career, we can offer help and guidance. We have extensive experience in helping artists to secure funding, establish their own companies, and build long term careers. From talking through an idea over a cup of tea to more in depth, bespoke support, we are here to help.
While we do not write funding applications for artists, we can offer feedback and guidance on application drafts.
