As we conclude the festival launch parade, it’s time for our ‘baraat’ to wind its way to Shadmanny! HQ – and receive an authentic welcome at our ‘shaadi hall’ at Bradford Arts Centre.
Fun rituals and sacred ceremonies will be at the centre of this immersive guided experience, which brings to life the colours, sounds, and traditions of South Asian weddings.
With the help of our friends from SongGeet and our very own ‘bride’ and ‘groom’, we’ll take a musical journey through a series of rasams (rituals), some unique to individual faiths, others shared across Sikh, Muslim, Hindu and Christian communities, but all encompassing the spiritual and communal joy at the heart of these celebrations.
