THE LONG SUMMER DAY

A celebration of queer body and soul, in harmony with the transformative light of the sun.

The Long Summer Day is a poetic journey, evoking the sweetness and intensity of a Summers day – through moving, sensing, feeling and imagining.

Danced by the rhythm of the sun – from emergent dawn to cosmic night – the work celebrates the beauty of being and becoming.

In a world where LGBTQIA+ bodies are too often shown through stories of trauma, this work grows as an act of resourcing and freedom. The artists move with a profound intent: to explore ways of expressing what makes you feel good– a silent, yet powerful, invitation to rediscover the joy, pleasure, and naturalness of embedding in a space without justification.

The Long Summer Day thus becomes a dance of reclamation and care, offering the public – embracing those belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community – a safe sanctuary where they can soften the defending they have had to learn in their bodies, and let the light pass through them.
